I woke up the next day, wrapped around Ambrose’s arms. His face is inches from mine that I can feel his breath on fanning my cheek. I swallowed hard and decided to take a moment to stare at his serene sleeping face when images of him and Aira crossed my mind. My eyes widened and I immediately pushed him away from me.
He stirred on his sleep and forced himself to open his eyes and look at me with creased brows.
I looked away and sat up on the bed. My heart is still clenching in pain, suffocating me.
I didn’t know how I would be able to face him now after all the realization I had. I need to keep it all in mind. I should not feel anything more for him because that would only do me more harm than good.
“Are you okay?” he slurred but he managed to sit up and pull me in a hug.
