Weekends were always my favorite. No classes, no one trying to bother me. Just a day where I could do what I wanted. And what I wanted today was to see Avery.
I picked up my phone and called her. It almost went to voicemail before she answered.
“Hey, Luca,” she said, her voice sweet like she had been smiling.
“Hey, beautiful,” I said. “I was thinking about coming over. You free?”
There was a pause, then she said, “Jackson is here too.”
I grinned. That made it even better. “Perfect. I get to see both of you.”
She laughed a little. “You sound happy about that.”
“Of course I’m happy. You and Jackson in the same place? How could I not be?” I leaned back on my bed. “I’ll be there soon. Try not to miss me too much before I get there.”
