Six Years Later
She’s ravenous again. I can tell by the way her belly rises and falls with each light breath she takes in her sleep. The way her closed eyelids tighten and the little wrinkle in between her eyebrows forms from the tense muscles. Her scent changes when she gets this needy. Her usual vanilla aroma becomes more citrus heavy and exotic, like magnolias.
She has an insatiable hunger when she’s pregnant. The first time she was pregnant was rough on both of us. Neither of us knew what to expect. A vampire had never grown a baby inside of them before, so it was a new experience that even some of the oldest beings couldn’t predict what would happen.
