I'm home all alone. Again.
Not entirely alone, as I've got Pete keeping me company. He's grown more comfortable around me, although there are moments when he slips into full-bodyguard mode. Currently, we're enjoying some Oreos while watching "The Originals" in the living room. Seated on the floor with our legs crossed, we quietly focus on the unfolding scenes.
I've realized that Pete shares my preference for silence during movies or deep concentration. It's a relief to have someone who appreciates a quiet movie-watching experience. Unlike Leo, who can chatter away until the series concludes, laughing and giggling like a hormonal teenager.
My phone rings and I pick it up, without checking the caller ID.
"Hello"
