Chapters. 5
Lauren still remembered very well who the man in front of her was. The memory of that night was so vivid that it traumatized her. Especially since the incident also claimed the life of her mother.
Slowly Lauren stepped back, away from the man she shouldn't have met. Yet again and again fate brought her here and brought them back together. Lauren's body felt hot and cold. She wanted to disappear from the man's presence.
“You're the woman of the night, right?”
Lauren's heart beat even faster as the man asked a question that seemed to stop time for a second.
Elvan was certain that the woman in front of him was the one he had been looking for. Not wanting to lose her, Elvan immediately grabbed Lauren's hand.
“Follow me!” he said as he pulled Lauren out of the danger zone.
Elvan led Lauren to a chair where there were not too many people around. Because she needed a safe place to talk to Lauren.
You don't think Lauren just shut up and complied. Of course she rebelled and refused the invitation of the man whose name she didn't know. What was clear was that she needed to get away from this man before things got out of hand.
“Let go of me!” Lauren snapped in a tone so loud that it attracted the attention of several people around them. They stared curiously at what was going on. But none of them dared to ask and continued on their way.
Lauren kept trying to escape from the man's choke hold, but it was no use if the man tightened his choke hold on her even more.
“Don't try to run away from me again,” Elvan said with an emphasized look.
Then Elvan asked Lauren to sit in the seat in front of him. The man's face became very serious and cold. It made Lauren's guts shrink even more when she wanted to run away from Elvan. At least for now Lauren would stay quiet and listen to what the man in front of her wanted.
“What do you want?” asked Lauren. She didn't want to waste too much time with the customer she had served.
Elvan smiled wryly at Lauren's assertiveness.
“Haven't you changed?” Elvan was confident that the seed he had sown in the woman's stomach would definitely bear fruit.
Lauren frowned, looking questioningly at the man in front of her. It was obvious from the way he was dressed that this man was no ordinary person. What's more, Lauren had also seen Elvan's identity.
“Nothing,” Lauren replied as she spread her hands. Showing that nothing had changed about her.
Elvan gave her a probing look. The man had really noticed Lauren's appearance. And indeed nothing had changed, even though she was under the influence of drugs that night, but Elvan could see clearly.
“Did you try the pregnancy test?”
Lauren was surprised to hear Elvan's question, which was increasingly heading in the direction Lauren wanted to avoid. Would she be exiled or killed if this man found out that she was carrying his child? Suddenly, this thought came to Lauren's mind.
But Lauren immediately changed her expression. She tried to remain calm and not panic. Even though her hands were shaking down there.
“I use contraceptives.” Lauren understood Elvan's concern. A man like Elvan, who was an important person, would definitely not leave any traces behind. They would eliminate any traces that could later affect the image of their name or their status which had an impact on business. “You don't have to worry.”
Elvan could breathe a sigh of relief this time after hearing that the woman he had slept with was using contraceptives. Whatever it was called, it was clear that Elvan had nothing to fear from now on.
“Good then,” replied Elvan breathing a sigh of relief. Finally the worries he had been feeling, disappeared instantly.
Feeling that they had nothing more to talk about, Lauren moved from her spot. But Elvan quickly held her back.
“Wait!”
Lauren turned around with a questioning look. “What now?” asked Lauren in a slightly sarcastic tone.
Lauren could not stay near Elvan for long. She felt as if her movements were being watched by the man.
While Elvan was looking at Lauren from the bottom to the top, the man was really paying close attention to Lauren's appearance.
“If there is no problem, then why do you want to go into the sea?” It was not Elvan's intention to interfere with Lauren's business, but she felt that the woman in front of her was hiding something. As Elvan watched Lauren, the woman looked uncomfortable and tried to calm down.
Lauren took a deep breath and then exhaled roughly. Then the woman looked back at Elvan. This time her gaze was more cynical than before. Because Lauren felt that Elvan had interfered too much.
“None of your business.” Lauren said firmly. "There is no relationship between us that is so deep that I have to tell you about my life. Goodbye and I won't see you again."
With quick steps, Lauren walked away before Elvan could ask questions or become suspicious of her. Lauren didn't want to add more burden to her mind. On the other hand, she had to keep her mental stability even though it was hard. Because now in her womb there is a life that she must protect.
Lauren has been living alone since her mother died. Only the fetus in her womb is the only hope for Lauren to survive the cruel world against her. Lauren continued to walk away from Elvan until she was completely out of sight.
Although her mind was not at ease because she felt something was wrong, Elvan did not stop Lauren this time. At least the woman had said that she was using contraceptives to prevent pregnancy. Although Elvan took it out inside that night.
Feeling that the problem was over and he no longer needed to chase Lauren, Elvan got up from his place and headed to the car without knowing that there was a big problem waiting for him in the future.

Lauren felt that she couldn't afford to stay in this city. After all, her mother was gone, there was no reason for Lauren to stay, Moreover, as the days went by, her stomach would automatically grow bigger and her existence hiding a big fact would surely be discovered by Elvan later.
Therefore, Lauren decided to pack up and move to a place where no one would recognize her at all. So that she can raise her child in peace without worrying about getting ridiculed by the neighbors. Because she decided to keep the baby, while on the other hand Lauren is a student and not married. It was certain that bad talk about her would interfere with the growth and development of her child.
"I'm sorry, Mom. I have to leave here. Because I can't afford for him to get into trouble in the future because of my dark past,” Lauren said as she shed tears in front of her mother's grave. Rubbing her stomach, Lauren said again in front of her mother's grave. "Mommy, take it easy, I don't live alone. Because there is someone who will accompany me from now on."
Indeed, Lauren's heart ached as memories of her mother flashed through her head. Lauren's tears broke even more when the woman decided to leave town. That meant she wouldn't be able to visit her mother's grave as often.
Lauren quickly wiped away her tears and tried not to drown her sorrows anymore. Because, the obstetrician who examined her yesterday said that she should not get too lost in her emotions. Because continued sadness can affect the growth and development of the fetus in her womb at this time.
Although it was hard and seemed unwilling, Lauren got up and dragged her suitcase away from there. This was the hardest decision of her life. But her life must continue, because there is a fetus that depends on her life.
