Howard POV.
At the sound of Kayla's shout, I desperately tried to open my eyes.
I was still in the throes of losing Gina, so upon seeing Kayla's face, which was so similar to Gina's, I mistook her for Gina.
"Gina ...... is that you ......," I asked weakly.
"Howard, wake up! I'm Kayla, not Gina!" Kayla responded to me.
She reached out and slapped my cheek but quickly retracted it.
I finally came to my senses, and consciousness returned to my brain.
But I couldn't muster any strength yet.
"This abomination won't really die like this ......"
Kayla kept saying some demoralizing words beside me.
But I thought she's right this time.
In my current condition, there was a good chance I would die. But again, I was very reluctant to die like this.
