✨Shadows in the Light.✨ Flora Pov The street was warm with sunlight. Flora slowed as they stepped out of the café, her fingers brushing Nasir’s. The cobblestones were uneven beneath her sandals, and the smell of butter and sugar drifted from a bakery halfway down the street. She stopped. “Wait.” Nasir turned. Flora had already stepped toward the window display, staring at rows of golden pastries dusted with powdered sugar. “You’ve had breakfast,” he reminded her. She pointed at a small cream-filled pastry. “But not that.” Nasir sighed as if deeply burdened and pushed the door open. The bell above the bakery chimed. Inside, Flora stood on her toes at the counter while the baker wrapped the pastry in paper. Nasir leaned against the glass display, watching her take the first bite.
