"You won't stop the carriage? Fine. I will step out either way."
Rowen sighed, keeping his voice steady. "Acting childish won't help matters now. This is unnecessary."
But she didn't take it calmly. Her gaze settled on him, shocked.
"Childish? Now I'm being childish!? goddess, I cannot believe I ever agreed to this."
If Rowen had caught the slight crack in her voice, he did nothing to show he had.
She was already halfway to the door when Rowen caught up to her in quick strides, placing his large frame between her and the door.
