CHAPTER TWELVE
DOMINIC’S POV
The tingles of our wedding kiss were still lingering on my lips. The soft lusciousness of her lips was unforgettable and it made me want to kiss her over and over again but this time with much more intensity. I wanted to possess her, to mark every inch of those beautiful, full lips and worship every part of her body. I wanted to have her arms looping around my neck as she pulled me in. Yet deep down I had a feeling that was not going to happen anytime soon. I could see her face in my mind when she thought I was going to hit her back in the office. In truth I had almost done that but something about the vulnerability in her eyes held me back. As much as I hated admitting it to myself, it was clear she was scared of me. Her blue eyes were painted with fear and that was almost driving me to my insanity. The thought of her seeing me as someone worth terrified of, was messing up with my head. All I wanted was for her to feel the same affection that was coursing through my veins.
“Where are you coming from reeking alcohol?” I clenched my jaw as Reed looked at me scrunching his nose the moment I stepped back into the house.
“Since when did that become any of your business?” I snapped.
“I was just asking,” he shrugged.
“And what are you still doing in my house? Its quarter past twelve,” I retorted not bothering to hide my clear revulsion at his presence.
“I forgot my credit card,” he answered simply.
I didn’t believe him at all. Reed never forgot his credit cards even if he was too wasted to remember his own name. Something about that set an unsettling feeling in the pit of my stomach but I was not in the mood to talk to him now. I shook my head once before walking upstairs to my room. My hand hesitated gripping the knob, feeling a rush of anxiety inside me. I didn’t understand why she made feel this…unsettled. I both hated and loved it at the same time. When I finally made it to the bedroom, she was lying on her back across the bed, her bare legs raised in the air to form an x while her hair flowed freely down almost touching the beige carpet. Those legs…an uncomfortable sudden twist developed in my pants as I unconsciously pursed my lips. The thought of them wrapped around my waist made me grow hard instantly.
“Are you done with the list?” I asked to distract myself.
She stood up stepping off the bed, her damn sexy legs at my full exposure as she strode towards me. I maintained a calm countenance, choosing instead to look up, noticing she was wearing my favorite light purple suit shirt. Nobody ever touches my suits.
“Who the f**k gave you the permission to wear that?” the angry words flew off my tongue, my temper flaring.
Dread floated into her breathtaking eyes making me bite the corner my lips in slight regret. Closing my eyes briefly I let my anger subside before opening them.
“I’m sorry. I needed something to sleep in and you didn’t give me time to pack my clothes,” she stated in a small shaky voice.
“Just…Never wear any of my clothes without my permission,” I let her off with a stern warning.
She silently handed me the notebook as I proceeded to sit on the couch. My gaze flew to the list surveying it with keen interest while reading it aloud.
“No bodyguards,” not on my watch lady.
“No honeymoon,” wasn’t planning on it anyway.
“No intimate gestures except in front of other people,” That was mean but I could do that until I finally get her to reciprocate my feelings.
“No s*x unless you allow it. This is insane,” I thundered at the last item on the list.
“I’m not agreeing to this last one. It’s so inconsiderable and why do you have to be the one to issue the person for us to have s*x,” I stated outright standing up.
“I agreed to get married to you not to be your s*x slave. And if you try to make love to me then that would be rape. It might not make you go to jail but trust me, but you’ll be worse the monster you already are,” suddenly realization hit her face as she stopped but I had not missed the seriousness in her voice.
I advanced the bed where she was sitting cross legged. The way her chest was heaving would have put me off usually but I didn’t back off.
“I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean-“
“The pen,” I stretched my hand.
For a moment she looked confused before she dropped the pen on my open palm. I signed below the list handing the notebook back to her. A look of relief swept her face as she glanced inside it. After brushing my teeth I got rid of my clothes remaining in my boxers. I put on one of my other two black shorts before walking back inside the bedroom. Her eyes widened for a fraction of a second before she looked away. Minutes later her breathing calmed down to barely being inaudible an indication she was already fast asleep. Taking the opportunity, I sat up studying her face. She looked so beautiful with her pretty long lashes warping her cheeks. I sighed thinking over her earlier words. She thinks I’m a monster and now more than ever I wasn’t going to let her go. I would prove to her that I was not one. Leaning down, I placed a peck on her hair, its sweet scent hypnotizing me for a second.
“You are mine darling. You’ll always be mine,” I whispered.
