I took the money from Caius reluctantly and chewed the inside of my lip as I considered whether I actually trusted him. This was probably just a test, and I knew that. He was probably going to follow me and watch what I did and how I spent this money.  I let out a sigh as I tucked the pouch of coins into a fold of my dress and hopped up onto the back of the large, pale horse because I didn’t think I should turn down the offer. Caius smiled up at me with a wicked glint in his eyes, and I shivered unpleasantly as I wondered what was going through his head as he looked at me. At least it made it easier to ride away from him.
