The group of young fighters were far less entertaining for me to watch than they would have been to most of the women in this city. It wasn’t a treat for me to stand behind the heavy, metal gate watching them try their hardest to stand out as they grunted and screamed childish imitations of barbaric war-cries. It was hot, and sticky, and they weren’t skilled enough to hold my interest; particularly not now that Jax had reminded me of my father, and everything I had lost.
