Chapter 7

Richard: After my call with Isabella ended, I contacted Madonna Kai to take care of Angela. I knew that I did not have the time to show Angela around my mansion. I live in a duplex with my men, but they have their own security house next to my gate. No one goes in or out without my permission. Though I frequently visit my father's house when he wants me home, after I turned twenty-two, I bought this duplex and moved here after my graduation from Top Hills University. I knew that if I spent more time with Angela Moraga, I would desire to touch her. My hands longed to feel her soft body, just as warm as her blonde locks. As I stood in my sitting room, Madonna stepped in from the balcony and informed me, "Mr. Richard, I have shown her to the guest room." "Which of the guest rooms?" I asked, my voice calm and my gaze fixed on Madonna's face. I knew that I had some guest rooms upstairs, but those were for my family members exclusively. "The one on the first floor," Madonna replied, her voice nervous, her hand pointing down the stairs. "It is fine. But I do not know if she has eaten tonight. Go and ask her if she is hungry," I dismissed Madonna even though she was older than me. She was serious about her work. "Okay, sir," Madonna bowed to me, knowing that I was her boss and that she owed me utmost respect. Though Madonna's daughter, Susan, works for me, I have no issues with them. They know when not to trespass or go against me. After all, my father is the number one mafia lord in this Top Hills City. I pondered my purchase of Angela and what I planned to do with her. Printing the agreement did not take me more than five minutes, as I had drafted my plans even before my twenty-fourth birthday. I had plans to marry, because it was my duty to provide an heir for the Henshaw family. Although my father wanted a marriage alliance with another city's mafia boss's daughter, I had not consented to it yet. When I purchased Angela, she was only meant to serve me as my s*x toy, not for me to fall in love with her. I sat on the bar stool awaiting Madonna's return. A few minutes later, the sound of footsteps reached my ears. Madonna was back, and she said, "She is asleep, Mr. Richard." "Hmmm. Why did she fall asleep so quickly? It is fine. You can leave," I dismissed Madonna, recalling that Angela had been sleeping the whole time since I brought her back. My mind raced to what Isabella did to her sister. Why did she put her own flesh and blood up for sale? Even though I was not meant to fall in love, we mafia members in Top Hills City recognize family and blood ties. How could Isabella sell her own blood sister? As I pondered Isabella's action after Madonna left, my phone rang, breaking my chain of thought. I picked it up and saw that it was Isabella calling me back. I hesitated, as I did not want to answer her call, but she called again. "Hello," I said, and Isabella's trembling voice asked me, "Richard, did you visit the Dark Realm Auction tonight? Are you the one who purchased Angela?" I paused, listening to Isabella's breathing. "Tell me, why did you put your sister up for sale? You did not think that I would visit the Dark Realm Auction tonight, did you?" "No, I…" Isabella was at a loss for words to explain. "Tell me why you sold your sister. You signed the consent form and sold her against her will, did you not?" I queried, even though I knew that was the case. I would not give Angela up. An opportunity comes once, and I could not lose such a golden opportunity. "I am sorry, Richard. Please, I just wanted to get rid of Angela," Isabella tried to come up with an explanation, and my mood soured. "Richard, why did you not tell me that you had my sister with you? Did you touch her? Please, I will come over to your house, and I can swap with Angela. She did not deserve to be sold. I will willingly offer myself to you," Isabella's frantic voice reached my ears, and I scowled. "Isabella, I do not want to see you in my house. And as for your sister, she is my property now. I do not have any intention of returning her, neither to you nor to the Dark Realm Auction house. So deal with the fact that you already sold your sister and she belongs to me," I said, my voice firm, and Isabella apologized, "Please, Richard. I am sorry. I did not know that you would visit the Dark Realm Auction tonight. Please do not touch my sister. She is innocent." Isabella cried over the phone, making my fist clench. "Isabella, now you know that your sister is innocent. What if I had not purchased her? Would you have called the other mafia not to touch her? I am sure by now she would be moaning under another man's deep pleasure. Do not call me to discuss your sister again. I do not want to see you, and your relationship with me is cancelled. If you value your life, you should keep your distance from me from today onward. If you breach it and show up in my presence, I will have you sold. Trust me, Isabella. I know how to play the game." I ended the call, not interested in discussing with Isabella. I had answered her call the previous time to know if she would admit to selling her sister. I waited to hear if Isabella would cry or feel any guilt about putting her only sibling up for sale. But she was as evil as Jezebel, and I was glad that I had not taken my relationship with her seriously. However, it piqued my interest. *What if Angela was pretending too? What if she was as evil as Isabella?* I gulped hard and rose to return to my study, as I had some online jobs to do for tonight. After an hour of working at my desk, my phone rang, breaking the tense silence in my study.
