I barely noticed my legs pull me into a stand and propel me over to the door where Ares was standing. His smirk had a way of pulling the butterflies in my tummy into a crazy dance and I hated him for it. His eyes held mine, my mind reverting back to the conversation I just had with Lizzie. When my gaze flitted over to her, she seemed both expectant and afraid of my decision. That’s when it dawned on me; in falling for someone as dangerous as Ares, it will not only doom me into a life of probable hurt but also the people around me.
