At that moment, this was the only thought in Xenia's mind.
She felt utterly exasperated and stood up, but her sudden movement, coupled with her still-weak legs, made her sway slightly.
"Caleb made you kneel like this," Xenia demanded angrily of the maid, "so if I refuse to eat, you'll just keep kneeling forever?"
The maid lowered her head and answered firmly, "Miss Summers, I'll keep kneeling, even if my legs give out and my knees shatter, I won't stand up."
