When the last jewelry box was removed from the safe, it was left completely empty. Bernice sat on her bed, surrounded by all of the expensive gold and diamond jewelry she had amassed over her life. There were dark circles under her eyes and her face looked like a withered flower in the absence of sleep. She had scarcely blinked her eyes all night as she struggled to decide whether to bet the last of her remaining fortune. She was excellent at gambling and had amassed a sizable fortune by pursuing her talent. She had accumulated this fortune via gambling over the course of her life, all of which she had lost over the last three days. She had never actually failed in the previous years, but an unknown Gambler defeated her in the game out of nowhere. She continued to throw her money at the
