As the midnight sky grew darker, only a few stars were visible, which were not enough to calm the restless heart beating in the dark room. Other than the wolves patrolling the borders, everyone in the Dumas Moon Pack was getting their beauty sleep except one woman. Her body was cold, her hands shook, and her eyes hardly blinked. She sat on the edge of bed with her eyes fixed on the window. Every little noise was picked up by her fully alert ears.
