Chapter 2

Aiden POV

I was restless, and anxious. I needed to run. Cable my wolf needed out. Shifting and feeling the earth under my paws. Breathing the fresh forest air. We were coming back from a run.

My best friend Luca my future beta, Devon my future gamma. My brother Hayden was there too and he felt the need to invite my on and off again gf. She’s from a neighboring pack Alpha daughter. She was a spoiled brat though. Whenever she came o visit she immediately started to act like the Luna. Always saying when’s she Luna this and that will change. No one but our mate will be Luna. But as a man who has needs, she was ok to keep around. We were heading back to the pack house, listening to Marissa bitch about everything. For a wolf she really did hate the outdoors.

Hayden notice the car in our drive way. “Guess the humans are here. Dad says it’ll just be the adults after graduation. Kids are going away to college.” I was staring at the car when a girl looks out into the forest. A faint smell hit my snout. But I didn’t pick it up again. It smelt like oranges. Then a male follow behind her and I feel Cable growl. I shake it off. She pointed towards us and started to walk when the male grabs her. I noted how she listened to him. I was curious. Taking a few steps forward. I see mom and dad walking out. “She sees you, keep going” I heard my fathers voice in my head snapping out of my thoughts.

After we went through the back door and went to shower we got called to office. “I want you boys to help them get stuff moved in. He’s going to be a great help to the business. I want him ready to work Monday morning.” I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. “Aiden you especially need to get to know him, as soon to be Alpha you’ll be working close with him.” I nodded. A rogue attack would be great right now.

Walking out Hayden slapped my back “maybe the human is cute and could be a good conquest” he said grabbing our cousins to help us. I couldn’t help be think of the scent I picked up in the forest. Oranges. She had to have been close by just passed her on a run or she we just got the tail end of her scent as she ran away. I’ll have to find her. Mate.

When we got there Hayden did all the talking, I was more about getting in get it moved and then back home. They seemed like a nice family. We went to help as I picked a box up the seem to weight a lot when the girl bumped into me. I turned ready to tell her to leave me alone when oranges hit me again and I looked down at her brown eyes. Cable was screaming mate over and over in my head. I put the box down “Hayden you stay and help I have something to go take care of.”

I hoped in the truck as I notice she picked up the box like it was nothing, I can’t have a human mate. Get it out of your head. I got back to the pack house stormed into marissa room and claimed her lips with mine. “Feel the bond with a she wolf Cable. Not a human” I told my wolf. But her face was engraved in my head.
