I woke up and looked at the bimpo who was by my side. I sat down and held my neck, and it wasn't that hot anymore. This is why I'm saying that I will really get better even if I don't have any medicine to take.
I held my head because I was wondering how I would last in that Duke's mansion, and I was lucky because he let me lie in his bed.
I grabbed his pillow, took it, and smelled it. I miss his scent... Even before, I used to smell his scent secretly.
I hugged his pillow. It's only once, so give me a chance to do this.
But how can I last in this mansion? I want this case solved. What if I want to be a secretary, a maid, or even a knight? Yes, but they won't believe me if that's the case.
Suddenly someone knocked on the door, and I was stunned. I immediately sat on the bed and adjusted my seat.
And I saw Matias looking at me.
"Are you all right?"
I looked away and didn't look at him.
"Hmm, I'm fine."

I looked at him, and I could see that he was trying to tell me something. Wait, is he going to tell me something?
Oh right! I have to respect him because he is Duke. That's why he's cold to me, because that's what happened.

I saw that he was stunned, and he looked at me because my voice became serious. My role was flirtatious at first, but now I have to stay here.
"W-What is it?"
I noticed David was at his side, as if he were going to say something too.
"Your Grace, tell her while it's still early."

"Do you want to stay here first?"
I was stunned by what Matias said. Wait, why did he change his mind?
"I have an offer for you for a 1-year contract agreement with me."
My eyes widened at what he said. Just wait, a while ago I was thinking about what I would do to stay here for a long time, but now I won't have a problem with that because he said that it was a 1-year contract... But what is the job he is talking about?
"W-What kind of work am I supposed to do?"
Matias straightened up and looked me in the eyes.
"Being my wife, I need a Wife now because the Emperor has been teasing me for several months about having a Wife. Don't worry, after a year, we will separate. I will give you all the bonuses. Every month there is a salary for you, and that includes your free stay here in my mansion."
I lost my tongue because of what he said today. Oh my gosh!!
I thought. That thing really helped me a lot because I was close to him, but why did he choose me?
"Lady Lia?" Matias called me.
"I have a question."
"What is it?"
"Why did you choose me?"
"Because you can play that role. You have a beautiful face, and you have an aura that lets you handle people who would destroy me."
"Eh? What am I going to do with them? Knock them out?"
They were surprised and immediately shook their heads at what I said.
"No, what I mean is that you can play the role as my Wife because I see that you are strong and you don't give up. And I know you are the woman who will not fall for me."
I was stunned by what he said. I'm the one who won't fall for him. Is he kidding me, right?
"You can do that job, right? Because I can do that thing, and that won't fall to someone I have a contract with."
My heart sank because of what he said. Damn, how's that thing working? I had already fallen deeply in love with him.
I remembered what happened before, and I clenched my fists. Love is not important now. The important thing is that I will take revenge on my colleagues who died. The past haunts me, and I can't let go of what they did back then.
"Game, I agree with what you said. No feelings are attached. I just flirted with you at the restaurant because, like other people, I also need money."
They were surprised by what I said.
"Don't worry, I'm not an easy girl like other girls who flirt with anyone, and it's my specialty. I'll show them what they want to see."
I held out my hand, and he looked at it. I just wanted to shake hands, but I was surprised by what he did because he kissed the back of my palm.
"It's good, and we both understand each other. Don't worry, David will write the contract first, and he will ask you about your likes and dislikes."

I took my hand back and smiled at him.
I knelt on the bed to be close to him and touched his face.
"Don't fall on me, your Grace."
I smiled at him and saw that he frowned and backed away, and I just smiled and sat on the bed.
Suddenly, my stomach rumbled.
"I'm hungry, do you have any food?"
"Hmm, can you stand up now? Do you want us to bring your food here?"
"No need. I'll go downstairs, but Before that, I'll take a shower first."
"Don't take a bath. You're not totally good yet."
"Half bath, can I?"
He sighed and nodded, and I smiled and walked to his bathroom. When I entered, I leaned against the door and held my heart while panting, and I could feel my heart beating fast as if it were going to speed up more.
"What just happened? Is it true that I'm going to work here? Yes!"
I hastily covered my mouth in case they heard me outside. I just smiled because I won't have any trouble with that.
"Destiny really made a way for me, huh. Good luck for me!"
