Chapter Fifty – Cause for concern.
King Xavier IV’s point of view
As I lay Esperanza down upon a bed, her face is awash with pain, Lady Berger, is in attendance, and is shouting orders to her servants.
“My King, I have sent for the physician, how far along is she?” Lady Berger asks,
I wonder how it is that so many people recognise her condition when here back in my realm, and Salker had no inkling.
“She has missed three of her confinement’s, and would be due another confinement next week” I inform Lady Berger
“Then she is past the most dangerous stage, Can I look at her your Majesty, as you are aware I have had many pregnancy’s only one full term, I may be able to recognise if the worst is happening” Lady Berger asked her voice full of compassion and kindness.
