I watch on as Lady Berger leaves the room, my blook pumping through my veins, and the sound of ten horses galloping in my ear’s. My head is beating fast, and I wait for what feels like forever before the room is clear and Xavier sits down upon my bed.
Taking my hands in his, he gives me a smile.
“My love, I have good news, our guards have found Lady Alya and the guard, although Arthur nearly shot a couple of them, thinking they were from Salker. They are travelling back this day and should return by morning at the latest, we are hopeful for this night. They are in good health, and the express messenger said they had eaten a brace of rabbits that Arthur had caught last night for supper”
