Chapter Forty Four Overheard
Queen Esperanza’s Point of view.
As I rest in my bed chambers, I feel lost without Xavier by my side, and for some reason have a very strong knot of fear residing within my stomach, that will not go away, and I do not understand why, but I do not find I trust anyone here.
I just wish he were able to leave the banquet, but as I have already done so, if the King also leaves this would be a massive slight towards the hospitality of Prince Salker, and we are here to have him on our side when it comes to King Casper, not alienate him and cause offence. I take a deep breath wishing once more that Xavier would hurry up and return to me.
A knock happens upon my door, I am not expecting anyone, and if it was my King he would just walk in.
