“A cursed family?” I ask, keeping my voice low to not draw attention from Annabelle and Monroe.
“That’s why their family isn’t apart of the imperial family anymore. Some even say they’re the reason why we’ve lost our blessing from the moon goddess.” She says.
The stench of her cigarette still lingers on her breath. It’s not pleasant but I don’t let my discomfort show.
