Selene's POV The water was warm, yet it did nothing to comfort me. I just stood under the shower, arms wrapped tightly around myself, letting the water wash down my body like it could rinse off the memory. But it couldn’t. Every drop that touched my skin felt like a reminder—of the way he held me, of how his lips melted into mine like he still had the right. My wolf stirred uneasily. She was quiet and confused. Not angry. Not exactly. Just... empty. I wanted her to rage. I wanted her to rise up and scream that we had been disrespected. But she didn’t. She curled up inside me like a wounded animal, not sure if she should trust the scent that still clung to our skin.
