Anthony walked back into the room just as I was sitting on the edge of the bed, staring at the floor like it held answers I couldn’t find.
“Please, spare me the lectures,” I said before he could speak, my voice already tight.
But he didn’t listen. Of course he didn’t.
“You need some air,” he whispered. “Let’s go for a walk.”
I opened my mouth to argue, but the truth was… I didn’t have the energy.
“Fine,” I muttered.
The sun was already setting, and a cool wind brushed my face as we walked along the border of the Nightshade Pack. I hadn’t realized how much I needed the fresh air until we stepped into it.
