My heart, which had softened a little when I saw the worry in Victor’s face, turned to stone all over again. I looked at him, and all I saw was betrayal.
“Of course she’s here,” I spat bitterly. “Why wouldn’t she be? I mean, why wouldn’t your future Luna show up and steal the spotlight?”

“Don’t,” I cut him off, holding up my hand. “Save it. Whatever you want to say, swallow it. If your father decides to kill me today or throws me in the dungeon or even strips me of every title I have, it has nothing to do with you anymore.”
