The piercing screams punctured my heart again and again. I closed my eyes as yet another scream left the lungs of my mate as she held onto her mother's cold body. Her tears continued to flow as she pleaded for her mother to come back to her. I felt hopeless. I comforted her the best I could but she didn't want me, I mind-linked Octavia to come help, Elle was in a state, one which I was finding it hard to comfort. Still, Elle refused to leave her mother.
