Elle I had only just got home, Octavia was kind enough to drop me back. I still couldn't believe that she was the daughter of the king and queen. Octavia didn't come across as royalty, she seemed so down to earth and friendly, I always thought someone of royal stature would be, well...stuck up. Also why on earth is she working in a bar if she was a part of the royal family? I must remember to ask her when I see her tomorrow. I was pleased with our friendship, never had I expected to be shown such kindness, I suppose being an outsider doesn't always mean you are not worthy. Regardless, I managed to keep my scent hidden all night, being out in the open I was still cautious of who was around me. I had some level of security being with the royals, but they had no idea of what was actually going on. I still wanted to keep myself under the radar, just in case. I kicked my shoes off and fell back onto my bed, sighing out loud as I hit the softness of the mattress. Thinking of our conversation in the car on the way back here. I knew tomorrow was going to be another long day so getting some sleep was probably for the best, Octavia was taking me for my first shift at the bar, she wanted me to use the next two nights to get used to things as she said weekends are very busy and not the time to be learning. She did offer for me to start next week but I had to start earning a wage, I needed money behind me, if Haydon ever did find me I had to make sure I had enough financial backing to escape and set up somewhere else, I wasn't going to be this lucky a second time around. I was grateful for the kindness everyone here had shown me, but I was still wary of the unknown. I didn't know if Haydon had any alliances here, I knew he wouldn't come near the royal family but everyone else was still a possibility. I wasn't too sure if working a bar was the best thing if I was trying to lay low, as long as I knew nobody was following me back here I knew I was safe. Glinda reassured me that nobody can enter here if they mean any harm to any persons here. This was the only advantage I had right now. Octavia I arrived back home, furious with my brother as he still had me blocked. I walked in slamming the door behind me, "Enzo!" I shouted. Knowing full well I didn't have to shout that loud but wanting to make a point at the same time. "Office" Aston answered me with a mouthful of food as he walked out of the kitchen eating a bowl of cereal. I slammed my bag down on the round table we had in the foyer which displayed a vase of freshly picked flowers. Storming my way towards my brother's office I opened the door and found him slouched back in his chair with his arms folded across his chest, a sly smirk creeping upon his face that he was trying to hide but failing miserably. "What are you smiling at?" I asked him as I copied his pose crossing my arms across my chest. "Did you have a nice evening sister?" He asked knowing he had no intention of showing up tonight, it wasn't the first time he skipped out on dinner with our parents, it was quite common, I had no idea why he always did this as he was very close to mum and dad once. smack that s**t grin straight off his face. my wolf encouraged feeling my anger build inside. If I thought it would make a difference I would Fern. I answered her. "It was lovely thankyou, it was a good job you didn't come really, I wouldn't want my new friend to know what a douche bag my brother is" I smiled taking the seat in front of him. "Please, I've seen your friends. they are nothing to rave about Octavia" At that moment Aston walked in holding his bowl of cereal still, "Sorry did I interrupt a brother-sister moment" he looked between us both clearly seeing the tension between us. "He sniffed you didn't he?" I looked up at him wondering what the hell he was talking about. "Sniffed me?" I asked confused, but he continued to eat his cereal like it wasn't a strange thing to say. "Octavia was telling me about her perfect friends," Enzo said ignoring my question completely. "Oh, they are nothing to brag about," he said siding with Enzo who just looked at me shrugging his shoulders smugly. "But, I will say the new chick is a bit of a step up from your normal circle, how did things go with her?" he asked me sitting in the chair beside me. "Good, Glinda's definitely onto something, there is more going on, I just wish she would trust me enough to open up to me" "I still think I should speak with her! Enzo said. "She needs a friend, Not a s**t shag then kicked to the curb" Enzo just laughed at my comment not bothering to answer. He couldn't deny it, he was known for being a bit promiscuous throughout his time, I knew he wanted his mate but he just couldn't control himself or his wolf around women. "She starts work tomorrow, I think she will get on great, I'm sure the pack will love her, she's really easy to get along with" "So soon? The girl looks a bit frail to start grafting" Aston commented. I nodded my head "I told her to leave it for a week but she was adamant to start as soon as she could, she seems like a hard worker. I'll make sure she's on light duties" I answered. "Have we found anything out yet about the pack she came from?" I asked Enzo. "Nothing yet, I don't want to be seen digging around, if she is in hiding it might draw attention here from the wrong people, If something is going on it needs to be dealt with in the right way. She will be safe in Corban house and you just need to stay by her side while she is at the bar, I've instructed a couple of people to head that way see what they find out without making it too obvious " I nodded agreeing with what he was saying. "Well, it's nice to see you're not completely useless" I smiled at him as I got up to leave the room. Not waiting for any of his snide remarks. This was me and Enzo down to a tee, we loved each other dearly and always looked out for one another but fought like cat and dog, no pun intended. Elle Today was a good day, I woke up feeling strong, not quite as strong as I usually am but stronger than I have been. I hadn't felt my wolf in a while but today I could feel her shifting beneath my skin. I planned on letting her out and going for a run at some point, I could only think it was the amount of food I consumed last night, my body was becoming stronger. It felt good knowing I was healing fast, I needed to be back to my full strength as soon as possible. My door opened as I stood at the kitchen counter pouring myself a drink, I smiled to see Octavia as she walked in singing out loud to herself, I giggled as I watched her come to a sudden halt pulling down her sunglasses to the end of her nose, looking me up and down. "You look hot" she complimented. "Really? I feel a bit exposed, I don't want to be too over the top" I looked down at myself, I had gone with a short black skirt black tights, and a white blouse with some diamonte detailing on it. "Babes, nothing is over the top there, the men will love it, you have the whole innocent girl next door look" she smiled as she unbuttoned my top button. "Now I know you don't like to dwell on details of the past but there aren't any jealous mate or ex-lover that's bound to turn up and s*******r all the men that will be hitting on you later will there?" she wiggled her eyebrows at me. I pushed her away playfully smiling at her comment "No, definitely no mate" I laughed as I looked down at myself and then at her outfit, she was in a short red skirt and a black netted top with a red bralet which was visible through the netting. "I think it's you who the men will be lusting over." I raised my brows at her. "Please" she walked to the couch and slumped down, "Do you know how hard it is to get laid around here?" she sighed. "Really? I would have thought the men would have been all over you, your really pretty Octavia" I went and sat beside her on the couch as I finished my drink. "Yeah I can pull them ok, then they find out who I am" she looks at me and I can see the sadness in her eyes. "My brother is very overprotective he gets that from my father, both of them kept the boys away from me when I was younger. Now my father accepts I'm old enough to find someone but my brother doesn't like it. I've never seen him do anything but I know he warns them away from me. The only man that ever asked me on a date suddenly stopped speaking to me the following day, he avoids me at all costs even today, that has my brother's name written all over it" she explained. "Well, no disrespect but your brother sounds like a bit of a d**k" the words were out of my mouth before I realized what I had said. I covered my mouth and apologized as the thought of insulting another Alpha. She laughed seeing my reaction "Don't apologize, he is a d**k. I remind him daily" she winked at me as she jumped up to her feet. "You ready!" "Yep" I nodded. We pulled up to a large building, it was on the edge of the town only about a 20 min drive from Corban house. It was a large stone building with long rectangular windows running down it. the word 'Fantasia' displayed across the front of the building in fancy lettering. We both got out of the car at the same time, as I stood looking up at the intimidating building in front of me, Octavia appeared by my side and linked her arm through mine, ushering me towards the entrance. "I know it looks kind of scary but trust me, you have the right kind of attitude to work behind this bar" she encouraged me as we walked through a dark hallway, we pushed through a heavy set of velvet curtains leading into a large room. A stage on one side and a bar that curves around the opposite side of the room, it was massive. The walls were bare brick with velvet features, the gold rails adding the final touches to the room. Speakers and lights were everywhere you looked, I could tell no expense was spared. The bar was definitely something to be admired. It had all mirrors lined up at the back with different bottles lined up in front of it. Whoever designed this room definitely had an eye for design. "This is Ged" she motioned to a large burly man that was walking towards us. "Evening ladies" he nodded his head politely. "Ged, this is Elle she will be working the bar with me" Octavia smiled as she introduced me. "Very nice to meet you" Ged bowed, taking my hand he kissed the back of it. "If you ever need anything or have any problems with anyone Ged is your man" she explained. I nodded "Ok, It's nice to meet you Ged," I said back to him. We had an hour until we were due to open, Octavia said it was going to be a quiet night tonight so it gave me a chance to adjust to my new role. We made the most of the spare hour she explained where everything was, how to work the till, and explained the drinks that were most popular. It all seemed easy enough, I was a quick learner so I picked it up pretty quick, before I knew it the customers came rolling in.
