I WAIT A FEW moments before knocking impatiently again.
I dig out my keys and unlock the door when she still doesn't answer. She had given us a
spare in case of emergencies, but I didn’t want to just waltz into her house.
Since I had been tasked with dropping off the party supplies, I figured she would be home when I arrived.
“Honey? Are you here?” I call out, but I’m only greeted with silence.
