“Because…” Edward trailed off and looked at the ground. His hands that were balled up into fists shook terribly. And not long after, it made his entire body tremble as well. “I’m a jinx,” he said through gritted teeth. It was as if he struggled to say it aloud.   What’s he talking about? I thought to myself. My brow furrowed in confusion, wondering what Edward had meant by that.  Unlike me, Valdemir showed no sign of surprise as he asked in a calm tone, “Are you still holding on to what has happened in the past?”  What has happened in the past? A question popped up at the back of my head. I was dying to know what had happened to Edward to make him think like this about himself. Since Valdemir’s serenity showed he’d already known, I was afraid Edward wouldn’t talk about his past again. I
