It had been days since I had seen Mildred, held her, kissed her, smelt her, my wolf was unsettled that we had not had her around us, was she avoiding us? I know she has been working hard in the hospital, but I thought I would get to see her at meal times. If she does not show up tonight, I am going to hunt her down and make sure she is okay. My wolf won’t settle until I do.
‘Son, what has got you all jittery?’ Dad asked as he peered up and over the paperwork he was reading and stared at me with such intensity.
‘Mildred, my wolf is going crazy because we had not seen her for a few days.’ I replied without thinking, if I had been in my right mind, I would never have told dad the real reason, I would have fabricated one.
