After leaving the prison, I went straight to where Lillian was buried. As I stared at the colorful photo on her tombstone, my tears fell uncontrollably.
"Lillian, I finally made Isabella pay for what she did. She’ll never be able to hurt us again. But... you’re still not here with me."
I reached out, gently tracing her smiling face in the picture. The stone beneath my fingertips was cold—just like my heart.
