AFTER THE MARRIAGE

16- First date

The next day, Kat woke up and when she turned around, she was greeted with an empty side that wondered to her. But then, she saw a small gift beside her, a blue rectangular box. She sat up and opened it and was surprised to see a brand-new phone. She then saw a little sticky note on it that had a written 'Please call me once you got it. Your old phone was broken so, I bought you a new one'. She smiled seeing it because it meant that he bought it for her. And so, she unboxed it and opened it with excitement inside her. She went to the contacts immediately and saw that there's only two phone numbers saved, which were hers and her husband with a name on it, 'Hubby'. She grinned seeing it and did not hesitate to call her husband just like he said.

Meanwhile, Grey is in his car and reading a folder when his phone rings. He fished his phone inside his coat and when he saw the name written on it, 'Wifey', he quickly answered it.

"Good morning," she greeted beautifully on the other line.

"Good morning. I see that you've already seen my gift for you," he mentioned in a business tone while he was in the car with his driver in front.

"Yes, and I am thankful for you. I've been wondering actually where's my phone, but now that you mentioned it, I am at ease. Where are you, by the way?" she told sweetly and lie down again.

"I am...on my way to work. Why, do you need anything?" he asked with hesitation because he was not used to someone is asking him where he was now, not even to old Katlyn. But because he was putting an act in front of her, he needs to go along with it.

"No, not really. I just wanted to know where you are because you did not mention to me last night or yesterday that you're going to work," she announced.

"Oh," he said. "Okay, this is the first time that she asked me like this and act a real wife to me. I forgot that she...doesn't remember everything and that we used not to care for each other," he murmured inside his head when he realized things.

"When are you coming back? What time?" she sweetly questioned.

"Coming back? I-uh...maybe lunchtime," he answered hesitantly.

"Please come back before lunch, and you promise me that we will go to the bookstore to buy books for my reviewer," she charmingly mentioned, alluring him on purpose.

He did not say anything for a minute and recalled that he did promise her yesterday to go outside today, which made him close his eyes as he composed himself.

"Hello, are you still there?" she called out because she can't hear him.

"Yeah, sure. I will come back before lunchtime," he answered when he opened his eyes.

"Thank you," she smiled, even though he couldn't see her.

"Okay. I gotta go now. Bye," he replied with no emotion as he is holding his self back.

"Wait!" she shouted to stop him from dropping the call.

"What?" he asked curiously.

"I love you, my Hubby. See you later," she sweetly told with a smile on her face from ear to ear.

He did not answer right away because he was shocked, hearing those three words he hasn't heard for a long time. His eyes widened in a mere of centimeters, and his heart skipped a beat just hearing it. "Wha-What did you say?" he asked because he couldn't believe his ears.

"I said...Hubby, I love you. Please come home later, okay? Bye," she recited again in her most sweet voice, and she dropped the call.

And the moment she dropped the call, she breathed in as if she's been holding it because of nervousness after saying those three words to him. And then, she giggles because it's the first time she said those to him too.

However, Grey slowly turned off his phone because he still couldn't believe his ears. Whilst, his driver in front noticed him zoning out.

"Are you alright, Sir?" the driver asked with concern in his voice.

"Yeah," Grey shortly replied, and looked to the window because he wasn't expecting those three words out of her mouth.

And until he got to his meeting, those three words kept repeating in his ears. However, he managed to be present on their deliberation.

"Thank you for collaborating with us, Mr. Lim," Grey congratulated, and he stood to have a shake hands with his new partner.

"No, thank you, Mr. Victor, for having me. It's such an honor to collaborate with you. I'm looking forward to more business with you," Mr. Lim acknowledged, and shook Grey hands tightly. "This calls for a celebration. How about a drink, Mr. Victor?" he asked, inviting him in.

"My apologies, Mr. Lim, but I have more important things to do," Grey enunciated, and took his hand.

"Let me guess what's the significant things you need to attend. Is it your wife? I heard that you got married, Mr. Victor. Congratulations on your marriage. I'm happy for you. I never thought the man of an hour would be tied down. Incredible," Mr. Lim guessed, and at the same time, congratulated him for his marriage.

"You guessed it right," Grey replied with a small smile on the side of his lips just thinking of his wife.

Eventually, Grey parked his car outside his penthouse and then, he walked towards the door quietly. He opened the door slowly and surprisingly, he was greeted with a lovely and beautiful smile from his wife who was already standing in front of him wearing a yellow dress. He was astounded, seeing her like his world stopped spinning for a moment. Furthermore, he gazed at her from head to toe, and when he looked up again at her, she suddenly runs to him and embraced him with such joy.

"Finally, you're home," she said merrily, and she looked up at him.

A genuine smile appeared on his lips, seeing her again and how cheerful and stunning she looked. His mood suddenly lightened up just because of her.

"Let's go now?" she asked for confirmation with excitement in her voice.

"We shall," he coolly replied, and they both went outside.

He immediately drives off and their surrounding filled with silence.

"Can we eat after we buy books later? I'm kinda hungry," she shyly mentioned, and she rubbed her tummy.

"Where do you want to eat?" he asked, glancing at her while driving.

"Um...how about pizza? I want authentic Chinese cuisine too," she announced sweetly.

"Okay," he shortly replied, and a little smile appeared across his lips just looking at her.

Thereafter, they went inside the Mall with their holding hands when she noticed that no one was walking around, just them, which confused her.

"Where are the people here? Is this Mall closed, that's why no one is shopping?" she asked confusingly.

"Yeah, I closed it," he answered.

Her eyes opened hearing him, surprised of what he said. "You, what? Wait. Are you the owner of this Mall?" she amusingly questioned.

"Precisely," he commented with a stern look.

She gaped after hearing his answer as she was shock at what she just discovered.

They then proceed to the big library and because they are the only people inside, she keeps pulling him wherever she goes. She scanned every bookshelves in the place to look for something interesting, especially the medicine shelves. Whilst, Grey, just follows her around even though he is not interested in books she's getting. He became a book holder for her, which he did not mind carrying as long as he gets everything she needs.

They then go to the Chinese restaurant to eat, and because they are in the VIP room, they are the only people eating with lots of food in front of them on a big table. She is dancing while eating her favorite dishes, which made Grey smile because she seems to be enjoying eating with him.

"Do you want to watch a movie after this?" he asked out of the blue while eating, too.

"Sure, my Hubby. It's our first date anyway after I got discharged from the hospital. We should enjoy our day together," she immediately agreed, and she put food in his mouth sweetly.

"First date it is," he murmured with a grin across his lips and he pulled her chair more towards him.

"Aw, they are so sweet," she mentioned while watching a movie, and she leaned her head on his left shoulder while her hands were wrapped around his arm.

"Yeah, they are," he responded while staring at her and not at the movie.

And while the movie is rolling, she couldn't help but carried away with their drama that she also cry. He so gives her a handkerchief to blow on, that he also takes their situation as an opportunity to hug her tightly.

After the movie, they were walking along the hallway when she saw a stand selling lemon juice, so, she pulled him and ordered a drink. And when her drink came, she gets his wallet inside his coat without saying anything to him, which made him surprised, but he did not stop her anyway and just let her since they were on their first date.

They got home at dinner that he carried all the books she bought from the Mall all the way to their room when she came out from the bathroom, and she pulled him inside.

"Come on, my Hubby, let's take a bath together," she cheerfully invited, and she was the one who removed all of his clothes.

A tension suddenly was created in the small cubicle while he was just watching her removing his clothes.

"Did you have fun today?" she asked while unbuttoning his polo, and she looked up at him.

"Yes, I did," he directly answered while looking straight into her eyes. "How about you? Did you have fun with me?" he threw the question back at her, and he started to unbuckle his belt.

"Yes, I did. Very much, to be honest. Thank you for today's date, my Hubby," she quickly replied with a big grin on her face to show to him that she really enjoyed their date today.

"I will much appreciate your thank you if you do something for me," he announced, and his belt together with his pants fell down on the floor with a loud sound.

She jolted after hearing the sound, which made her look down on his long member who made her nervous all of a sudden. "W-What do you mean?" she asked curiously, and she looked up at him.

"You know what I meant to say, my Wifey," he seriously commented, and he took a step forward while she stepped backward.

"What are you doing?" she queried with a big smile on her face as she already knew what he was talking about.

"Getting my reward after taking you on our first date," he announced with a smirk on his lips, and he suddenly pulled her arm to wrap his hands around her small waist.

"You want a reward?" she giggles, asking.

"Yes. And I want it now," he answered, and he began to nibbles her neck while his one hand grabbed her left breast and squeezed it.

And they enjoy their bathtub together, merrily, with giggles, and pleasures.

The night went deeper, Kat is fast asleep while Grey is just staring at her when he remembered everything they did today. A charming smile appeared on his face just thinking of it.

"I love you, too, my Wifey. Thank you for coming back to me," he whispered lovingly, and he planted a kiss on her head before his eyes slowly falling as he was also sleepy too.
