“Mate!” The word jolts me awake, making Sam jump at my sudden movement.
“Mate?” I respond, not quite aware despite the jolt that ran through me only seconds before. I must have been more exhausted than I realized. Judging by the waning daylight, what feels like only a few minutes have turned into hours. Not only that, but I can sense Brian is near me. It was his calling to me that finally woke me up.
I will be with him soon. I long for him to touch me, listen to his voice, and marvel at his beautiful body.
“Mate!” Brian’s mind link is possessive and full of desire. I almost shift to human, ready to embrace his touch. “Come,” he begs me, and no amount of alpha command can stop me as I get up on all four to run in the direction I can sense my mate. He’s running towards me, too.
