“Mom...mom....!”
I cried and I cried while our vehicle sped into nowhere.
“Natalie! Natalie! Wake up...you’re dreaming....”
I opened my eyes and saw mom as she is waking me up. I embraced mom and tried to pacify myself.
“It’s alright, Natalie. It was just a dream.”
But I just cried on her shoulder while we embraced.
“It looked so real.”
“Don’t worry, nobody can hurt you now. I won’t leave you here. I would ask Maisie to substitute for me if I need to go out. I will always be by your side. Stop crying now.”
“Thank you, mom.”
“Brian and Mia came by earlier and brought you flowers and food. They said that somebody told them you like these.”
And mom handed me a box of pastries with fruit fillings.
“Can I eat later mom?”
“Ok, are you better now?”
