Mama-Patrick saw the way her son drove in, as if he had been chased. When Patrick retired back to his chamber, he said he wasn't hungry, and she wondered who could have possibly annoyed him and where he might have gone since morning. Normally, if Patrick wanted to go out, he would let her know whom he was going to visit in their village. Sometimes, he even informed her where he was going, like telling her he was going to see a friend, without emphasizing which friend he was visiting, but he let her know at least.
