When we left the empty wing, Reid padlocked the door. I didn’t ask any more questions. I followed them to the nearest set of stairs, and up to the third floor. The entirety of the walk was silent. They paused outside of Silas’s office, which was right next door to Reid’s. “I don’t know where we’d store this in mine. Is there space in yours?” Reid looked at Silas expectantly. “Plenty.” Silas let us into his office, and it occurred to me that I had never been in here. The furniture and the muted color palette were very similar to Reid’s—dark woods, simplicity, and of course, a massive window on the back wall.
