My boots crunched through the snow and I blinked against the softly falling flurries as Copeland, Reid, and I hurried into town. It was pushing midnight, and we could hear screaming in the distance, guttural and agonized. We left the house in such a rush that neither Copeland nor I had even asked what was going on. I glanced at him, peeking around Reid.
