Brian's POV... My pout deepened when the 16-year-old girl in front of me smiled hesitantly and shyly. I really hated the idea that my mom volunteered to shelter and take good care of this girl. But then Mom can't stop talking about her ever since she met her. And she insisted that we should take her in since she’s her best friend's daughter. Her best friend died of breast cancer three months ago and Mom was devastated. After years of not seeing each other, they finally met when she’s already on her deathbed. That is really sad but that doesn't give any reason why we should take the daughter in and let her stay, right? I mean, she has no other relatives as per what mom said but still, we don’t know her fully. But no, my mom promised her best friend that she would take care of her only child. I don't know too but the girl grew up without a father. I looked at her again and immediately I knew that she looks like a disaster. Well, she's just 16 but I can already see that she's the exact definition of an old lady, long skirts, loose shirt, glasses, and dark long hair. I cringed at her and hurriedly looked away. I have a bad feeling about this. "Iho..." My mom said with a warning tone. "Be nice." Then my mom turned to the girl and held her shoulders. "Iha, I want you to meet my son. His name's Brian. And this is my husband, your Uncle Philip." She said and then she turned to me and Dad who's standing beside me. Maybe you're wondering why we didn't know each other. That is because Aunt Belinda and her only daughter lived on the other side of this planet. So what I'm saying is, we really have never met. Just now. It was just Mom and Tita Belinda who kept in touch but still haven’t seen each other in person for the longest time. But I think I’ve seen a couple of their pictures before as my mom would always talk about her. "Brian...Philip, this is Natalie. She's Belinda's only child." I heard my mom say bringing me back to reality. "Hi." She said shyly. Dad warmly smiled at her and hugged her. "Welcome, dear." "Thanks, Tito." she answered and smiled. Then she turned to me. Her cheeks automatically turned pink when she looked at me before she said, "Hi." I just shrug my shoulder as I faced her. She’s still blushing and smiling sweetly which made me scoffed. What’s with her? “Brian.” Mom warned once more and so I looked away and tried to calm myself. Yeah. She's definitely pretty. But girls like her are hard to get along with. For sure. "Welcome to your new home, iha." Mom excitedly said and hugged her tightly again. "Thanks, Tita Lorie." Natalie responded and hugged my mom back. Good thing I'm leaving for college in a few months. I don't like this girl at all. I smirked and smiled menacingly at her when an idea came to my mind. My mom may like her but I don't. So for now, I'll enjoy every moment while it lasts. I'll have fun and make her life a living hell. ***
