The next morning I woke up with the sun shining on the tent. I stretched a little under the covers before rolling over to face Gillian. She hadn’t woken up before me this morning, which is unusual.
I found her facing me, still in the same position that I put her in last night, sleeping heavily. Through the bond, I could feel that she was fine and that made me feel a little better. I lay there watching her sleep and holding her hand for a while.
I listened as Freddie and Willow started to talk with the two warriors by the firepit in the middle of the tents. Instead of lying there, I decided to get up and get breakfast while waiting for Gillian to wake up. I pulled on better clothing before stepping out of the tent.
