I was excited to see Christian that night. I wanted to f**k him and everything. My girl was basically calling for him. Even Maribelle left when I asked her to. I was ready to scream his name as soon as he got off of work, but when Christian got home that night. Everything had changed. The angry expression and the slamming of the doors was all I needed to know that he had a f****d up day at work.
“Hey, baby.” I said as I took the steak out of the oven.
“Hey?” He answered, confused. “Where’s Maribelle?”
“She’s off. I told her I wanted to make you dinner.”
I turned to Christian who raised his eyebrows at me.
“Can you even cook?”
I chuckled before nodding my head.
“Yes, I can. I’ve been living on my own for a good few years. I better know how to cook.”
