Elizabeth was surprised to find Mina in the room when she got there with Selene. The young woman hadn’t been out of the room much since she arrived, and she seemed to be rather deliberately keeping to herself. She didn’t have Tyler’s daughter with her, and Elizabeth wondered where the baby girl was. Her father didn’t seem like he was very interested in looking after her, and there weren’t many other people in that pack who were in any state to watch a baby.
“I apologise,” she looked at the floor and began heading towards the door, “I just wanted to see they are OK.”
She was speaking in English, now. It wasn’t perfect and her accent was heavy, but it was a hell of a lot better than Elizabeth’s rusty German was.
