Elizabeth sat down at the table opposite Sawyer. It was the same table she had been sat at the day she first met him properly, and she guessed that he had remembered and chosen to sit there deliberately. He was sat writing something with a drink untouched beside him, the steam still rising from the cup as evidence it was fresh and piping hot. There was no drink waiting for her; he hadn’t expected her to find him quite as quickly as she had. She slapped the note he had left down in front of him, and he smiled warmly. “You found me.” “Why didn’t you just ask me to come and get a drink here?” “Getting a drink wasn’t the point. Having you find me was the point.” “It’s not like there are many places to go around here.” He looked a little crestfallen – he had wanted to test her again.
