Elizabeth tried her best to stay as hidden as possible in the front seat of the car. She sank down further into the seat, clutching the shard of mirror so hard in her hand that it sliced her palm. She ignored the sharp sting as she looked outside for any sign of Connie. It was dark, and her night vision was not good enough to be able to make out anything of any use. She couldn’t even try to transform in the car, she knew that would be stupid. And outside would be just as dangerous when she had no real experience with people like Connie. She felt herself shaking slightly and tightened her grip on the mirror further. It hurt a lot, but it stopped her letting the fear take over her - and it also stopped her from thinking about Elle.
