Gasps filled the big meeting room. All eyes turned to Georgia, as they whispered to each other. One older woman leaned forward, her lips set on a thin line. “That can’t be true.” she said. “We weren’t told about this.” Georgia gave a small shrug, like it didn’t matter. “Maybe you weren’t told.” she said. “But the papers are signed. I have just as much right to be here as anyone else.” Sylvester who was sitting at the head of the table, looked down at the folder in front of him. His jaw was tight.
