“Well, it doesn’t matter,” Alexander said with a small shrug.
May’s smile faltered. She tried not to show how annoyed she was, but it was there, just under her skin.
“What do you mean by that?” she asked, shifting in her seat.
“I mean, I don’t mind all that,” he said calmly. “You seem to like luxury stuff. That’s cool. I can handle it. I’ve got the money.”
May stared at him for a second, unsure if he was being serious or just trying to impress her. He looked confident, sure of himself, like this kind of talk didn’t scare him at all.
“I mean, if you like to travel, go shopping abroad, or even buy silly expensive bags, that’s fine by me,” Alexander continued. “If you want to go to Paris next weekend just to get a new bag, we’ll go. Simple.”
