The warm water cascaded over my skin, washing away the soreness of the previous night. Alan’s hands moved gently over my shoulders, spreading the soap in slow, soothing motions. His touch was tender, almost reverent, a stark contrast to the commanding tone he usually took with me. I leaned into him, letting the tension melt away as he worked his way down my arms and back.
I couldn’t help but let out a small sigh. “You’re… so gentle,” I murmured, glancing up at him through the steam.
He paused for a moment, his hands stilling on my hips. Then, a small smile tugged at the corners of his lips. “Is that surprising?” he asked, his voice low and soft.
