I stepped out of the recreational center and breathed in deeply the smell of the musty, polluted city air. It certainly wasn’t as refreshing as Marc Jacobs perfume, but it had become my constant—it had become my home. I had grown, over the course of five years, to adore the hazy city. I couldn’t deny I missed the freshness of my small town, but I wouldn’t go back. It would be too suffocating for one. Plus, I had built a good life for myself here.
