Chapter 16

1770 Words

Nayana My hands are shaking, my legs feel like jelly, my neck is sweaty and I think I'm about to pass out. Even though Leo has assured me twice now that my family won't give me problems, it doesn't stop the terror that grips me as we step out of the car. The morning sun is so hot and blinding that it feels like my body is burning. "Hello, madam, welcome home." Eddie, who's one of my dad's guard greets me when I approach the entrance of the manor. "Hi Eddie. Good morning." I speak quietly, afraid my voice might possibly wake the whole house up. As if they're not already awake, right? Leo follows behind me so it takes a moment before the guards see him. Their eyes widen and they fearfully bow their heads in greeting and mutter 'Don’ Leo doesn't even acknowledge them as he walks past.
