I had no idea they’d been so interested in me. Matt had made it abundantly clear I wasn’t what he was looking for. The brawny cowboy had told me outright and with embarrassing clarity.
Then Ethan had been all bossy and dominant at the Barking Dog that night, but then nothing. Bam. It was like the two of them shut everything down.
