I was having such a good time with Anna's family and friends that I forgot where I was. I forgot the reason I didn't want to come here in the first place. It was because of my mother. She was too close to me for my comfort now.
I wondered if she had changed. If she even missed me. I am her only son, so didn't she feel anything for me at all?
"Aren't you going to see your mom?" Jayce asked.
Anna stepped in right away and held my hand. "Jayce...don't..." she warned him.
"What? I understand you're mad at her, but she is still your mother," he said.
"So what? Am I supposed to just forget about all the horrible things she said to me and how she hit me and abuse me just because she brought me into this world? It's not like I had a choice in that matter," I said bitterly. Jayce
